Weight Loss….Diet….Weight….Perfect Weight and words associated with these are some of the most searched for words on the internet today.  The last time I checked, over 37 million people searched Google under the word “diet”.  Diet is just one word, there are many, many more words such as lose weight, weight, the diet, diet weight loss etc. that people are searching to find out more information on how to achieve a healthier body.  This adds up to well over 200 million people searching for information on the subject of diet and/or weight loss.

Over two-thirds of Americans are concerned about being unhealthy.  Are you one that has struggled with the scale and concerned that what you put inside your mouth is making you sick?  Perhaps you are already suffering from heart disease, diabetes, cancer or dementia?  If so, you are not alone.

Take a look at what the average American eats every year…

  • 100 pounds of sugar…
  • 300 cans of soda…
  • 55 pounds of fats and oils…
  • 200 sticks of gum…
  • 20 gallons of ice cream…

…no wonder we’re all sick and feeling unhealthy.

We have been fed (excuse the pun) a lot of bad information regarding diets and weight loss.  The main lie is that diets work.  Diets don’t work….they never have……and they never will.

This report is to dispel some of those wrong theories so you can equip yourself with the truth and find real solutions to your diet and weight loss questions.

5 Things You Need To Know About Weight Loss

·        Eat more and eat more often.  Sounds a little ridiculous when you’re trying to slim down, doesn’t it?  But it’s true.  Over time, conventional wisdom changed from “eat three square meals a day” to “graze on small frequent meals.”  Your body actually prefers a steady stream of nutrients through your waking hours, in the right balance (not too much, not too little). This balance makes you better, more alert and attentive, and less hungry.

·        Effective weight loss means eating more food, not less.  But you need the right foods that leave you feeling satisfied and full for hours. A growing body of research now reveals that the real issue isn’t how much fat or carbohydrate you’re eating—the real issue, believe it or not, is how what you’re eating affects your blood sugar. It’s a whole new way of looking at weight loss…

·        Switch on weight loss and switch off hunger.  At Tufts University, they discovered that people who ate just a FEW additional grams of fiber every day automatically consumed 10 percent fewer calories – without even trying! These folks weren’t dieting or following a calorie-controlled menu. They weren’t really trying to lose weight! The extra fiber filled them up – so they ate less automatically.

·        Keep writing in your food journal–and not just what you ate, but how much and how you were feeling. Just the awareness alone about your food/feelings connections can be enough to prevent a few extra nibbles.  Keeping a written record of what you eat will give you the information you need to see where you need to make some changes.  This is maybe the single most important step you can take when considering a weight loss plan.

·        If you are looking for a new plan that will help you become friends with food, understand how to eliminate common food allergens that may be making you sick.  Many are not aware that there are foods making them sick.  If your body does not get what it needs, it will let you know by giving you signs and symptoms (e.g. constipation, diarrhea, low energy etc).  Ignoring these signs and symptoms can eventually lead to metabolic imbalances.

Educating yourself on what to eat, when to eat and how much to eat can give you the tools you need to start your weight loss plan.  But remember, it is not the diet plan that is important.  What is more important is the commitment you make to yourself to begin your journey that matters.  Make a decision now to become a healthier, happier you!
